The crackling chemistry between Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor was a hot topic of discussion earlier this year when they jointly hosted an awards show. After the show, the actors were inundated with offers since then to do a movie together.
But now that Imran and Ranbir have realised the potential of their combination, they want to take it slow and steady.

In an interview to Stardust (the issue hits stands today), Imran explains why they refused to be on Farah Khan's forthcoming chat show, "We (Ranbir and I) are deliberately cutting down on our public appearances together now because we don't want to lose that novelty factor," he says. "Farah Khan had invited us on her chat show but we didn't go for the same reason. We want to keep it special for that special film. We both want it to be the most awesome film ever. Nothing lesser would do."
The young Khan is quite upbeat about his on-screen chemistry with Ranbir, "We had a great time when we hosted an awards show together. But that also made us realise that together, we're an exciting proposition. There should be something exceptional coming our way to accept it. Because people have now seen our chemistry, they expect a lot."
According to Imran, both he and Ranbir are waiting for the right script to come their way. "I want it to be mind-blowing. Whenever we do that film, I want it to have a huge opening and I want people to talk about it for the next 20 years. Look at Andaz Apna Apna. People still talk about it. Whenever the perfect script comes to us, I'll make sure we'll have a joint narration. Ranbir and I talk about it a lot," he says.
Special bond
Imran believes there's a reason why he bonds with Ranbir so closely. He states, "There are cthings I can only talk with Ranbir because I know only he would understand. That's because he's in the same place as I am. Somewhere, there's a connection. We hang out; we get along."
