The young actress is in the city with co-actor Varun Dhawan to promote their upcoming film 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania'. "When I started working, I was just 17 (years). I am 21. This is like a period when I am growing up. It has been a strange experience for me as I feel I have grown quickly and at times feel like a child," she said in a press conference. The 'Highway' star said she feels privileged to work with ace directors of the industry.
"I felt a change in my personality and I also feel the growth as an actor. I have got the privilege of working directors Karan Johar, Imtiaz Ali, Abhiskek Verman and Shashank Khaitan (of 'Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania').
I have learnt a lot from all of them," she said. Varun and Alia, who were earlier seen in 'Student of the year', have once again paired up for the romcom. Varun, who is playing the title role of Humpty Sharma, said he has visited Hyderabad several times as a child, accompanying his father David Dhawan on shooting for a couple of his films.
When asked whether he was willing to work down South, Varun said he is open to the idea of working in Telugu films. In the film, Alia is essaying the role of Kavya Pratap Singh, which also features Sidharth Shukla and Ashutosh Rana in key roles. "I am happy with the choices I have made so far. As for making friends, hopefully I have not made any enemies.
I have made some very strong friends," Alia said. Produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, the film marks the directorial debut of Khaitan. It will hit theatres on July 11.
