Hostel - Movie review

Hostel
A; DRAMA
Dir: Maneesh Gupta
Cast: Mukesh Tiwary, Vatsal Seth
Rating: 1/2

What's it about: Karan (Seth) gets admitted in an engineering college and keeps getting ragged and tortured by his seniors with no respite in sight.

What's hot: Are you kidding? Except for an efficiently sinister (for the most part) Mukesh Tiwari... nothing.

What's not: A film that purports to be a gritty, realistic take on the evils of the menace of ragging, really shouldn't stray too far from its purpose.

Hostel is a fine example of how not to make a "real" film.

Barring the boyish-looking Vatsal, the rest of the collegians look like they've been in college forever. The repetitive ragging scenes take you from disgust to indifference. Not a very nice place to be.

Also, this doesn't feel like the writing of a guy who has penned films like Sarkar and D. What's with that?

What to do: Skip this. No questions asked.
