Bebo and Saif insist that the KJo-Rensil flick is called Jehad; the producer-director duo say their film is still nameless

As working titles go, Rensil D'Silva's directorial debut, is still found lacking one. However, the film's lead pair doesn't seem to think so and have been referring to the film as Jehad.

Though both the producer (Karan Johar) and director (Rensil D'Silva) have denied calling their film Jehad the stars are sold on the title and are in fact urging all of KJo's and Rensil's friends to convince the duo to go with it.

Wrong signal

Kareena and Saif mention Jehad as the title for the Rensil film in their interviews. But Rensil is adamant. "No way would I allow my film to be called Jehad.

It means holy war and would send out the wrong signal about my film's intentions. Jehad was a name suggested by Kareena and Saif.

I am certainly not going by that title. Considering the current climate, that's a really inappropriate title."

Karan has a different story to tell. "I don't know why Kareena and Saif insist on calling the film Jehad. We don't even have the rights for that title.

We'd have to first acquire the rights. I'm not in favour of the title. But the release is approaching and the baby is still without a name."

Sadly, Rensil cannot show the film to friends who could suggest a title. "If we do, we give away the plot. And I don't want to do that under any circumstance."

Title jhol!

Initially, Karan Johar wanted to call his next directorial venture Khan but he didn't have the rights to the title of the film.

Keshu Ramsay had the rights and KJo had to get the title transferred to his name with the help of the producers' association AMPTPP.

But even after spending time and energy on getting the name, KJo later decided to call his film My Name is Khan.

Sources say, "He doesn't want to take the same route again and wants to be sure on what he actually wants to call his film and then try to check the availability of the title."
