Here's why 'Force 2' team has been denied permission to shoot in China

The makers of John Abraham and Sonakshi Sinha-starrer 'Force 2' have been particular about filming the actioner at real locations. They had recently approached the Chinese government to shoot a few portions in the East Asian country, but their request was declined. Reason? The film’s sensitive storyline.

Says a source, “After wrapping up the first schedule in Budapest, the makers were ready to head to China where the film is set. However, since it deals with intelligence agencies of multiple countries, including India’s primary foreign intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), and the Ministry of State Security (Chinese intelligence agency), the China government declined permissions of the film shoot there.”

The authorities’ decision is said to have been made following apprehensions over the country’s portrayal on celluloid. Disappointed, the makers are now scouring for alternative locations.

The film’s director, Vipul Shah says, “The Chinese government refused to give us permission to shoot there due to the film’s subject. We are still trying (to convince them) although I don’t think they will agree. So, we are also trying to figure out an alternate location. The sequel will be a step ahead from the first film (Force, 2011). We have shot some good action sequences in the first schedule.”
