What's it about: Set in the breath-taking landscape of the Himalayas, Frozen tells the story of a family whose very existence is threatened by unforeseen events and circumstances. Made in black-and- white, the film revolves around Lasya (Gauri) and her family that includes her dad Karma (Danny Denzongpa) and brother Chomo (Angchuk).
Their serene, secluded life is thrown into chaos when a unit of the Indian military moves in their village giving them no option but to consider migrating to another place. Relations in the family undergo a considerable change after this event. The film shows how human beings react in different conditions.

What's hot: The hero of this movie is not its cast but the cameraman who manages to capture the eerie yet mystical terrain of the Himalayas. Using black and white gives the mood of the film more realism and authenticity. Among the performances, Danny stands out in his role as the father who's caught between the dilemma of protecting his family and surviving the odds.
What's not: Even though the premise is interesting, the script doesn't have the legs to keep us engaged. There are moments when the story keeps going around in circles not coming to a conclusive end. After a while the movie starts resembling a Nat Geo documentary.
What to do: Watch it only if you have the patience to endure a slow, barely engaging movie loaded with serious conversations.
