In just a few short years, following her luminous debut in Slumdog Millionaire, Freida Pinto has become one of the most feted young actors. Her feature credits already boast of performances for directors like Woody Allen and Julian Schnabel. 
She's also starred in the Rise of the Planet of the Apes and will soon headline in filmmaker Michael Winterbottom's literary riff, Trishna. So as Freida lights up the screens with another of her films today, she talks to CS about her all-time fave films:
The Shining
I've seen it about four times. I think that's a lot for someone who's completely petrified of darkness and lonely places.
The Shawshank Redemption
It's a very uplifting film and there's something about it that motivates you and gives you a drive and that sense of 'let's go and do it'. I've seen it like a million times. It's like a book that you can go back to and read again
and again.
Gone With the Wind
When it comes to romantic films, I really like Gone With the Wind. And I realise that I sound so clich ufffdd saying that, but there's something so absolutely romantic about it. When I first watched the film, I wanted to be in a situation that Scarlet O'Hara's inu00a0-- to feel that love that's just basically crazy!
Drive
I watched Drive recently and enjoyed it a lot. I like it, even if a lot of people seem to have mixed feelings about it. I thought it was a well-made film.
Ratatouille
It's my all-time animation favourite. I do not know why, but this film about a rat really got me. I loved Lion King as a kid, but as an adult, Ratatouille has caught me hard. I thought it was amazing. And Peter O'Toole's voiceover as Anton Ego is just brilliant.
