Shaping up
Fitness is part of my lifestyle now. I don't have to think whether I will hit the gym when I wake up, I just instinctively go. If I am out of the city, I do lunges and squats in the hotel room. But if I have a very strenuous shoot ahead, I might consider skipping the exercise.
Mom knows best
Most people think that motherhood is the end of a good body. But it doesnt have to be that way. Yes, with the added responsibility, moms have very little time left for themselves, but it isn't impossible to make time for fitness. For me, it was very important to get my shape back without compromising on health and nutrition.
That's partly because my work demands it, and partly because I want to look the same again. I put on 10kgs when I was pregnant both the times. Losing weight the first time took longer as I gave myself a longer time to recoup. I started hosting Indian Idol when my first son was nine months old. The second time I was out hosting an event on the nineteenth day after delivery in my pre-pregnancy dress without pouring out of it! I knew by then what not to eat and also did a lot of yoga and swimming during pregnancy.

I have a personal trainer who trains me three times a week. I do cardio and spinning on the other two-three days. With my trainer, I alternate between circuit training, functional training and total body workouts.
I now know that to lose fat, it is your diet that really makes a difference.
You cannot work out effectively without eating right. I never diet, but I now eat frequently and avoid trans fats and desserts. But once in a while, I do binge on my favourite dark chocolate and whatever else I want to. I snack on fruit, green tea, salad. The funny thing is, I've actually grown to enjoy this stuff.
