The Governor of Maharashtra recently felicitated this dashing lady with the Most Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur honour. Ekta tells CS about what these recognitions mean to her and who really influences her:
Seal of honour
I started in 1994 when I was just 18-years-old. I've been doing the same job since. To be truthful, the awards and rewards are just adding to the pressure. I try to keep them away and as absolute honours. And respecting each of these honours conferred on me, I try to remember that I'm more than just an award. A viewer response or good TRPs is the biggest award to me.

You haven't heard me getting linked up with men, but it's not that I've lived the life of a saint. I won't ever say that for you to catch me later! But yes, I don't have the time to be a complete sinner, though I'd prefer to. It's boredom and a boring life not because of lack of possibilities, but more like a lack of opportunity due to my hectic schedule. I've had brief relationships, but you probably never came to know about them, as they haven't interrupted my life otherwise.
Nourishing touch
Though my father has been a very big source of inspiration in my life, it is my mother who has influenced me all throughout. She is the sun of our family and my father, brother and I are the planets that revolve around her.
We're all airheads and she's the one who keeps us grounded. Even in our home, we'll all be holed up in our rooms like anti-social people, and she's the one who keeps us bound together. She'll arrange our life in a jiffy.
On a personal level too she's so strong that she faces any problem with a smile. We don't have even one tenth of her strength. When I'd started out, there were so many professional problems, people took me for a ride and I lost a lot of money. Eventually my mother stepped in with her household managing theories and tooku00a0 production finance in hand. She became so good at it that recently my CEO told her to come back and handle production finance once again.
