Akshay Kumar tests culinary skills on MasterChef India

B-Town superstar Akshay Kumar will showcase his culinary skills for the first time on television tonight on MasterChef India. The desi version of the international MasterChef series will begin with the auditions.
In the first episode, around a thousand contestants will mince, chop and shred their way through the auditions.

Akki and co-judges Chefs Kunal Kapoor and Ajay Chopra will categorise them as the "haves" and the "have nots".
Only the top 100 contestants will be eligible for the next round. Of these, only forty will be eligible to go to the Boot Camp round.

Finally, the top 12 of them will compete on the show. They will have to go beyond the four walls of the kitchen to prove their worth on how well they perform under pressure.

In the course of the show, participants will have to do everything from cooking the feast for a big fat Indian wedding to catering to a langar before they can prove they are worthy of going to the next level.
Akki and two celeb judges will decide how well they survive the pressure.
