Says a source, "A character named Yazaad Qureshi (played by Manav Kaul) is loosely based on the well-known politician. However, the makers of the film are trying to keep things under wraps to avoid controversies. A few glimpses of the trailer show Kaul dressed similar to Abdullah. Apparently, his body language and mannerisms are also inspired by the veteran political leader."

The source adds, "The trailer showcases certain sequences that are shot in Kashmir. Interestingly, producer of the film, Vidhu Vinod Chopra is a Kashmiri Pandit and Amitabh Bachchan essays the role of a Kashmiri Pandit."
The film features Farhan Akhtar playing an Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) cop.
The film's spokesperson remained unavailable for comment.
