Box office: 'Gabbar Is Back' rakes in Rs 39.5 crore in opening weekend
The Bollywood box office seems to have bounced back with the Akshay Kumar-starrer 'Gabbar Is Back' becoming the first film of 2015 to cross the Rs 10-crore mark on its opening day — Rs 13.05 crore, to be precise. So far, the film has raked in Rs 39.5 crore.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh says, "The crowd has returned to the theatres with Gabbar Is Back. The film has been accepted well as the audience is now getting to see more performance-oriented roles by Akshay Kumar."
The collections of this action-drama dropped slightly on its second day at Rs 11.35 crore. Trade expert Amod Mehra adds, "Sunday, however, salvaged the situation. The principal producers are in a safe position now, but the film still has to do very well to earn profits for the all India distributor who has paid a fancy price to acquire the film."
On the other hand, Hollywood seems to be more dependable at the box office. 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' has collected about Rs 10 crore in its second weekend.
A trade source states, "It has, however, fallen a little behind 'Furious 7', which had collected Rs 10.5 crore during week two. But the film is going steady as of now."
