Both Vidya Balan’s 'Bobby Jasoos' and Armaan Jain’s 'Lekar Hum Deewana Dil' have got a lukewarm response so far
'Bobby Jasoos'
It turns out that the first Friday of Ramzan hasn’t been fantastic for Bollywood. The box office openings of both films that released last week were not quite up to the mark.

Vidya Balan’s Bobby Jasoos may have won critical acclaim but it only managed to collect Rs 7 crore over the weekend. On the other hand, Ranbir Kapoor’s cousin Armaan Jain’s Lekar Hum Deewana Dil (LHDD) posted a dismal collection of just Rs 2 crore.
Exhibitor Rajesh Thadani says, “Bobby Jasoos collected Rs 7 crore because of Vidya Balan, but it didn’t fare very well; it could’ve done better. There wasn’t much of a buzz surrounding Lekar Hum Deewana Dil too.’’
Trade pundits seem to be not surprised by the performance of both films. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh says, “Lekar Hum Deewana Dil is a youth-oriented film and it stars an actor from a film family. Besides, the film was made by the makers of Cocktail and it had the music of AR Rahman but nothing seems to have worked in favour of the film.’’
Meanwhile, Vidya Balan’s Bobby Jasoos has managed to bag critical appreciation, but it hasn’t really translated into great business. Amod Mehra says, “Women-oriented films, like Queen, typically do well due to word of mouth. If Bobby Jasoos maintains its collections in the coming week, it will recover its money.’’ Ek Villain, however, continues to remain rock steady at the box office; the film has raked in Rs 87 crore so far.
