Veteran star Dharmendra had been invited for an upcoming film's poster launch at a city gurdwara on Wednesday, but within a few minutes of his arrival, he interestingly found himself in the midst of a wedding party.

Sources say some of the guests at the gurdwara wedding were thrilled to see the actor on the premises and 'hijacked' him to the function. "Dharamji was taken to the wedding mandap and the guests as well as the bride and groom started clicking pictures with him. It was quite chaotic and even he did not understand why the theme of Nanak Nam Jahaz Hai's poster launch was all wedding-y. When we realised what had happened, we rushed to the party and escorted him to our event. Later, we had a good laugh over it," said a source close to the production team.

Rahul Mittra of Wave Cinemas, which is set to re-release the iconic 1969 film, confirms the story and says, "I would consider the newly-weds lucky as they got the chance to take pictures with a living legend. Though my security officials were present at the entrance, the wedding guests managed to hijack him. Despite being a star, Dharamji took the entire episode quite sportingly."
