The World Cup is around the corner and off spinner Harbhajan Singh is readying himself with his trademark googlies. With the Indian side brimming with confidence after a successful tour of South Africa, Bhajji can't wait to spin a few headlines. He talks to CS about his preparation for the Cup:
Perfect match
Just like the rest of the nation, all 15 of us who have been selected, are looking forward to the World Cup. The atmosphere in these matches is always great. You can't miss the energy in the stands. I'm excited, to say the least. The morale of the team is very high because of our recent performances where we fared well as a team.u00a0
The heat is on
Every match I play is important to me, be it the World Cup or a smaller tournament. Everyone keeps saying that we're the favourites to win the Cup, but I'm not going to let that affect me or my game. Having said that, playing under pressure has always been our team's forte. And this time is not going to be any different, hopefully.
It's not 'over'
My job isn't just to bowl well anymore, I'm also expected to do well as a low order batsman. But I enjoy this responsibility. It feels good to be known as the finisher. Even though this is my third Cup, this one is going to be even more special for us as a team, as it is Sachin's last. I hope that we get to lift the trophy as a befitting tribute to him and all that he's achieved for the country.
