The Hrithik Roshan-Pooja Hegde starrer is releasing tomorrow and Gowariker is confident that people will find their "big questions" answered once the movie is out.
"It had to be a teaser which talked about Mohenjo Daro. We had to establish the pre-historic city before we talked about the story. I was a little bit prepared. I knew that people will have reservation," Gowariker told PTI in an interview.
The 52-year-old director had faced similar situation when he began making "Jodhaa Akbar".
Gowariker, whose other period dramas include "Lagaan" and "Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey", says there are many interpretations of history and he has chosen the one that he wants to tell through his story.
"We don't know much about that era but at the same time we think we know a lot. When I am making a movie and choosing to base it on archaeological findings, then I have to choose one interpretation. There are many archaeologists and their interpretations are not always in sync with each other.
"There can be many interpretations. So, I was a bit prepared (about the reaction). But once people come to watch the film, their big questions will get answered."
Gowariker, however, concedes that some might get influenced by the criticism.
"It can affect because there are people who decide about watching a film based only on trailers. But the backlash has only been about minor things like costume and headgear."
