An eyewitness says that the man, who claimed to be a fan, jumped at Hrithik Roshan and grabbed him by his neck from the back. It apparently took three people to pull the man away from the actor.
The witness adds that Hrithik's cap and glares came off as a result of the fracas. "Hrithik's children had come down for a special screening of his latest film, 'Bang Bang', with their friends. After the incident, Hrithik left the place in a hurry and photographers missed out on an opportunity to click a family photo."

When contacted, Hrithik Roshan confirmed the story. He said, "I am safe and unhurt, but I don't know where this guy suddenly came from and how he managed to hold me by my neck. Of course, my security guards took him away, and I even went up to him and spoke to him. I am fine now."
After Hrithik Roshan left the theatre with his children, his guards apparently reprimanded the man and let him off the cuff.
