Mumbai's floods and the crawling traffic were reason enough for fashion designer AD Singh and wife Puneet to take off on a holiday. So, the couple decided on three glam destinations -- Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Genting Highlands -- places famous for shopping, food, spas et al. AD shares a page from his travel diary with CS:
Cool KL
We spent our first day in and around the Petrona Towers. It was a lot of fun checking out Bukit Bintang, especially shopping in the Pavilion Mall. After exploring zillions of fashion boutiques we made it a point to stretch our feet at the Jackie Chan Caf ufffd. It's a unique coffee shop with beds that cater to tired souls like us, over some Jackie Chan flicks on huge LCDs. Puneet and I also had a good time posing at the famous KL Wish Fountain. But the highlight of the trip was test-driving a Ferrari. You have to drive one to realise the actual speed and energy a car can give.
Gaga over Genting
The Snow World, Chinese temple and theme parks made our visit to the Genting Higlands absolutely worthwhile. But the breathtaking view from the watchtower at the Chinese temple was the best treat ever. Genting is known for its casinos, but since Puneet and I don't gamble, this served as the perfect romantic getaway for us.
Simply Singapore
Puneet and I found everything in Singapore -- right from temples and gurdwaras to the best shopping malls. The reliable public transport made sightseeing even more enjoyable. After some hectic sightseeing, we made it a point to head to the Sentosa Islands. From the Imphia walk that's full of fountains to the night safari, the 4D theatres (that aren't for the fainthearted, if I may add) to the underwater world -- we couldn't have asked for a better time. All this, definitely came at a price. But then, if you are on a holiday, why bother!
