Their father, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, is a celebrated sarod player. Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash, too, have carved a niche for themselves, playing the same instrument. For their upcoming album, the duo has collaborated with producer-composer Karsh Kale. "The record is nearing completion. Karsh is a visionary composer and producer. He is a trailblazer, not only in his own career, but also for an entire scene to emerge in the world of electronica and fusion music," says Amaan, adding that despite belonging to different worlds of music, working on the album was a great experience for the trio.

"We have performed with Karsh only once in Mumbai, but as artistes, we connect on so many levels. Since we know each other's musicality, it sailed beautifully across an ocean of two worlds, literally."

This is Amaan and Ayaan's first collaboration with Karsh, and Ayaan is glad they got to try their hand at electronic music again. "It has been a while since we ventured into electronica; it was wonderful to revisit the genre. Karsh made it special," he says.

The album was conceptualised when the musicians met at World Of Music, Arts and Dance (WOMAD) music festival in 2015. "We have some memorable tracks lined up for lovers of classical music and electronica. The album will release mid-year," says Amaan.
