Akshay Kumar's character in Anthony D'Souza's Blue is called Aarav! The actor agreed to take his son's name for the action film as it suited the characterisation just fine.

Flaunting it

A major chunk of the film unfolds along the seafront and Akshay features bare-chested and only in swimming trunks. The Khiladi has his son's name tattooed on his upper back. Instead of hiding it with make-up, Akki decided this was an opportunity to flaunt the mark as it is his name in the flick!

Says the director (better known as Tony), "Akki agreed on being called by his son's name as it gelled well. As he has tattooed the name on his back, it added to his character's styling."

It is learnt that when the actor was told about his screen name, he was cool with it.

Says a source close to the actor, "In Blue, Akshay's character has shades of grey. When this aspect was pointed out to him and that he was being called Aarav, the actor laughed and quipped, 'It's only for a film'."

It is learnt that the actor has not been talking about this interesting aspect as he wants to keep it guarded till the Ashtavinayak-produced film releases later in the year.
