Akshay Kumar's biopic on Dada Kondke in trouble?
It has been reported that Riteish Deshmukh will essay the role of Marathi film actor, Dada Kondke in a film directed by Mohit Suri and co-produced by Akshay Kumar and Ashwini Yardi.

Both Akshay and Ashwini have bought the rights of a book, Ekta Jeev by Anita Padhye which is based on the life of the veteran actor.

However, if sources are to be believed, the Dada Kondke Pratishthan has taken an objection to the project. Dada Kondke Pratishthan, an organisation run by the actor’s co-stars Usha Chavan and Vasant Bhalekar holds the rights to all his films.

A source says, "Akshay's film is slated to go on floors soon, however, the organisation feels that even though the makers have bought the rights of the book, they need to sought permission from the members as well. So they have sent a letter to the makers expressing their views."

"They are concerned about the way Kondke's personality will be interpreted and depicted on screen," the source adds.
Ashwini Yardi and Riteish Deshmukh remained unavailable for comment.
