Reigning the current Bollywood terrain is superstar Akshay Kumar, while his peers are still thriving to deliver a huge blockbuster, Kumar is ticking this arena with each release of his. This Republic Day, the actor is going to bring to the nation a very important issue - discussion about menstrual hygiene, as his film 'PadMan' revolves around a man who produces cost-effective sanitary napkins for the naïve women living in the remote areas and educating to them about its importance. The film also stars actress Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in pivotal roles.

Khiladi Akshay took to his Twitter account to release the second poster of his film and trust us the poster will give you a sense of delight. He wrote, "#PadManTalks : Mad only become famous! @PadManTheFilm @sonamakapoor @radhika_apte @mrsfunnybones @SonyPicsIndia @kriarj #RBalki (sic)." Well, we assume the actor is referring 'mad' to his character, who ultimately, because of his passion, becomes famous. The actor's eyes twinkle while he holds cotton balls in his hands. The zeal for making sanitary pads for women can definitely be seen in his eyes.

Inspired by the life of Coimbatore-based Arunachalam Muruganantham, who found a way to make affordable sanitary napkins for women in his village, 'PadMan' is set to release during the Republic Day weekend on January 26, 2018. The film has been written and directed by R. Balki.
In an interview to mid-day as part of the conversation series, Sit with Hitlist, Akshay Kumar also opened up on changing the film's release date from April 13 to Republic Day. He said, "It stemmed from the fact that a holiday release is an advantageous business proposition."
