There's almost a sense of déjà vu for Akshay Kumar. Just before Rustom (2016) released, filmmaker Pooja Bhatt had spoken about her long-in-the-making project, Love Affair, being centered on the same subject — the 1959 Nanavati murder case.

Now, as Akki gears up for the release of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha themed around PM Narendra Modi's pet project, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, we hear another film on the sanitation campaign is in the works.

Good Morning Sunshine, helmed by Sanjay Nag, stars Revathy, Rituparna Sengupta, Tejaswani Kolhapure and Shweta Tripathi, with a cameo by Shabana Azmi. What's more, the film also features Priyanka Bharti, who set off a social revolution by fleeing her marital home since it didn't have a toilet.

Says Nag, "It's a women-centric film. Shweta plays Priyanka's character. We recentlyhad a schedule in Lonavla and Priyanka visited the set."

Nag, whose 2011 film Memories in March bagged the National Film Award for Best Feature Film, knows he cannot compete with a "big budget, mainstream film like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha", but promises his film will be distinct. "The treatment and pitch is different. It is pointless competing with them (Toilet)."

Akshay's film is slated to release in the Independence Day weekend. Nag hopes his film, too, hits the theatres soon or travel to festivals at the least. Good Morning Sunshine went on floors in 2015, but was delayed as its music composer MM Keeravani, who has also scored for Bahubali 2, was tied up with the war drama. "Now that Bahubali 2 is complete, he'll work on our film's music," adds Nag.
