Known to shun film awards and events, Ajay Devgan will walk the red carpet for the first time at a film fest. The star is slated to attend the London Indian Film Festival (July 14 to 24). Touted as the largest event of South Asian movies, its seventh edition this year will have film screenings across London and Birmingham.

Ajay Devgn is making an exception to his self-imposed rule for his first international production, 'Parched', which is the opening attraction at the festival. The film, directed by Leena Yadav, has an ensemble cast of Bollywood names like Radhika Apte, Surveen Chawla, Sayani Gupta, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Adil Hussain. It relates the story of four village belles who break the shackles of tradition.

Ajay Devgn's spokesperson says, "Yes, this is the first time he is walking the red carpet. He will be leaving for London on July 13. His daughter, Nysa, 13, will accompany him." The actor is expected to make a sartorial statement at the festival.

Last September, Ajay Devgn had skipped his red carpet appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival for this film's premiere due to last-minute commitments in Mumbai.
