Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been the face of Indian cinema internationally but the actress says she is happy being known as a national actor.

"We are just national only. When I am introduced abroad there is reference to Miss World or international beauty title or international presence," Aishwarya told reporters here at the trailer launch of "Jazbaa".
"I am very thankful for the opportunities. When we did this film (Jazbaa) we were happy to come on board as actors," she said.
Aishwarya thinks it is an exciting time in cinema for the audience as well actors as different kind of films are being made today.
"Every movie that we make we hope it appeals to the audience because it is made for them. There are variety of subjects that are appreciated and enjoyed by the audience," Aishwarya said.
"And that makes an exciting time for us in movies. It is exciting time in cinema and we creative people are very grateful for it. We too get to enjoy the variety," she said.
Aishwarya will be back on screen with "Jazbaa" an upcoming action-drama film directed by Sanjay Gupta.
In the film, Aishwarya will be seen playing the role of a lawyer for the first time.
"It did educate me on what the life of a lawyer is. Cinema is part of our culture. We do have a certain impression that about courtroom scenario," Aishwarya said.
"We wanted to keep it as real as we could and that's the way we have played it out with the conviction of a lawyer not necessary the dramatics," she said.
The "Devdas" actress is happy with the way "Zazbaa" has shaped up.
"I don't follow conventional parts. I enjoy the process of making a film. When a film has made the money, it is gratifying for the business of cinema," she said.
"When the film has appealed to the audience, it is creatively satisfying. We have made the film and now it is out there and we hope people like it," she added.
Aishwarya was all praise for Irrfan, her co-star in the movie.
"This was a dream cast for me. When I read the script it was him and I was glad he did the film. When you are working with him you don't feel like you are working. He makes the atmosphere relaxed," she added.
Also starring Shabana Azmi, Jackie Shroff and others the film releases on October 9.
