"My family, my father, grandfather all have a special association with BHU and I even hope that my daughter Aaradhya would too carry this family tradition forward and will uphold the Bachchan family's association with BHU in future," the "Happy New Year" star said while inaugurating a cultural event "Spandan" at Banaras Hindu University (BHU).

Abhishek also asked students to do their best for the country.

Quoting the lines from the famous speech of former American President John F Kennedy, he said, "'Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country'."

"Students must not lose sight of their own cultural heritage and they must take up the responsibility and must follow the rich culture and tradition of their country," he added.

The father of one also visited the famous Kashi Vishwanath temple earlier in the day and offered prayers.
