Is 'Thugs of Hindustan' based on lines of 'Matchstick Men'?

Speculations were rife that the Amitabh Bachchan-Aamir Khan-starrer, 'Thugs of Hindustan', was based on 'Confessions of a Thug' by Philip Meadows Taylor. However, as per recent reports, Vijay Krishna Acharya's film is based on the lines of the Hollywood black comedy 'Matchstick Men'

Speculations were rife that the Amitabh Bachchan-Aamir Khan-starrer, Thugs of Hindustan, was based on Confessions of a Thug by Philip Meadows Taylor. However, as per recent reports, Vijay Krishna Acharya's film is based on the lines of the Hollywood black comedy.

Matchstick Men (2003), revolving around a con artiste. The makers are tightlipped about the project though Big B has stated that he begins shooting in February.

Whatever the subject, seeing the two stars showcase their histrionics will be a treat in itself. We just can't wait.
