But considering that this festival of colours completely ravages the white garment, it would only be logical to wear your trashiest clothes that you don't mind dumping. But celebs obviously beg to differ, probably for the following reasons:

A soaking wet, white garment gives celebs a chance to flaunt their svelte figures, without making it look contrived. Who said that a kurta or sari can't make you look sexy?
