Debutant Vikas K Dwivedi will direct Imphal, a biopic on Irom Sharmila. The civil rights activist from Manipur is popularly referred to as Iron Lady.

The pre-production is underway and Hansal Mehta will present the film.

Taapsee Pannu has been approached to play the protagonist and she can’t conceal her excitement.
