The Film Certification Appelate Tribunal (FCAT) has given a go-ahead to 'MSG: Messenger of God', the film directed by Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan, the leader of socio-spiritual organisation Dera Sacha Sauda. The film has been issued a U certificate, with a word muted and a disclaimer in the beginning and the end of the film. The producers of the film will get a copy of the order by today morning.

'MSG' was first rejected by the examining committee of the Censor Board, who felt the lead — played by the spiritual leader — was performing miracles without substantiation. The committee also deemed it more as a self-promotion, and referred it to the revising committee. The latter committee decided against clearing the film, saying it could cause law-and-order problems and also promoted superstition and blind faith, besides hurting religious sentiments. It was then referred to the FCAT, which watched it in New Delhi yesterday and cleared it.
Though the original release date was today, it remains to be seen if the producers manage to keep on schedule.
