Ragini MMS's lead actor collapses at the wheel of director's new car. "Spooked" director says it was "an accident"

Raj Kumar Yadav, the hero of Ekta Kapoor's film Ragini MMS, crashed director Pavan Kripalani's new car during the shooting of the film in Dahanu. There have been many accidents on the sets of the film, which have spooked the superstitious producer into having a havan last week at her office and pray for normalcy.

The crashed car

Says the director, "I had just bought the car. Raj urgently needed to get to Mumbai for another shoot.

Unfortunately, no production car was available, so I let him take mine. But he collapsed at the wheel and crashed."

Pavan adds, "We were shooting all day but that doesn't explain why he collapsed at the wheel. Raj himself can't understand why and how it happened. He'd been through many gruelling days before but till now, never lost focus."

The director says though his car is totalled, he isn't sad as his hero escaped unhurt. "I was happy and relieved to know that Raj was fine though the car was badly hit. But yes, it definitely upset me when I saw my car in that condition. Raj is eager to buy me a new car, a promise I know he will keep, but I will never accept it. It was an accident and I don't blame him for it. Besides, I'm insured," says Kripalani.

Spooky
Pavan reveals that the accident spooked Raj and him.u00a0 "Raj was completely spooked by it and so was I but nowhere in the same intensity. The crash was scary because no one can fall asleep at the wheel after driving such a short distance. But then we have had scarier incidents happening on and off the sets of Ragini. I'm just glad it wasn't a fatal accident. It could have been."
