Celeb kids borrow from their mothers!

In a world where fancy designer brands rule the fashion scene, there's something special about wearing a simple cotton sari or slipping into a vintage dress passed down from your mom. Celebrities aren't immune to this charm either. While they dazzle on the red carpet in top-notch designer outfits, they also cherish items from their mom's closet.

Mrunal Thakur

Remember when Mrunal Thakur posted a picture on her Instagram stories with her mom Vandana Thakur? They were both wearing black saris with a pink border. Below the photo, Mrunal wrote, "Isn’t this the best thing in the world to be able to wear your moms saree and jewellery. I’m in love with my moms wedding saree (Shalu) I think I may end up wearing the same for my wedding. (sic).

Moms always have the best advice, especially when it comes to saris. Showing off some serious sari style, Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta's daughter, Ira Khan, took a leaf out of her mom's fashion book. She rummaged through her mom's closet and pulled out a comfy yet stylish grey printed sari to rock on a relaxed Sunday. Sharing her choice with her followers, Ira posed in the elegantly draped sari, teamed with a black bralette, funky earrings, white boots, and an olive green handbag. She hopped on Instagram to share the look and wrote:

"Saree Sunday! I love sarees. So I’ve decided I’m going to wear a saree every Sunday. For a few hours. I don’t own that many so I’m going to raid various people’s closets that way I don’t even need place in my closet for them. This is mom’s. From Calcutta. We think. Yes, I wore boots with my saree. (sic).”

Janhvi Kapoor often brings back memories of her mom, Sridevi, by wearing clothes from her wardrobe. Back in 2018, Janhvi wore one of her mom's saris to the 65th National Film Awards in Delhi. Designer and close friend Manish Malhotra showed his appreciation for the young actress on Instagram, writing, "The very pretty @janhvikapoor as she goes to Receive Sridevi Ma’am’s Much Deserved National Award for her fabulous performance in Mom’ … An Actress and a human being and the friend that we all miss every day of our life’s … #jhanvikapoor in her Mom s personel Saree for this emotional and precious moment (sic).”

Kareena Kapoor

Many celebrity stars have taken inspiration from their moms and moms-in-law, adding their own flair to the outfits. Kareena Kapoor Khan, for instance, wore her mother-in-law, veteran actress Sharmila Tagore’s wedding attire. When Kareena tied the knot with Saif Ali Khan, she donned Sharmila’s classic gharara for her wedding day.

Khushi Kapoor, daughter of the late Bollywood actress Sridevi and film producer Boney Kapoor, just made her film debut in Zoya Akhtar's teen musical comedy 'The Archies'. In a recent interview, Khushi mentioned that she wore her mother's gown to the premiere because she wanted to feel her mother's presence with her during the event.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow recently shared on Instagram that her daughter, Apple, sometimes raids her fashion collection. She posted a picture of the 19-year-old wearing the same sheer Alexander McQueen gown that Gwyneth wore to the Oscars back in 2002.
