Redefining Calligraphy: Tishya Pansari's Journey From Hobbyist to Entrepreneur

Tishya Pansari LLP

From enhancing schoolwork to collaborating with top brands like Gucci, Tishya Pansari's journey highlights the revival of calligraphy in a digital world. Here’s how she built a global community while preserving an ancient art form.

Calligraphy is an age-old craft that transforms words into visual art. For Tishya, it all started in the 6th grade as a way to improve her school projects. What began as a simple desire for better grades quickly became more than a hobby – it became a passion.

As her skills developed, she started sharing her creations on Instagram during her second year of learning. What was initially a hobby soon turned into something much bigger when her posts gained widespread appreciation. Recognizing the demand for high-quality calligraphy services in Kolkata, she seized the opportunity and established her own company, Tishya Pansari LLP, when she was merely 15.

Calligraphy isn’t just about beautiful writing it’s about bringing life and emotion into every stroke. Her brand offers both businesses and individuals a unique way to engage with their audiences, providing personal and memorable experiences.

Calligraphy Services: From Handwritten Letters to Engraved Keepsakes
Her business offers high-end calligraphy services, turning everyday moments into something memorable. For her personal clients, Tishya’s work transforms gifts and special occasions into lasting memories. Brands, too, are increasingly looking to her for creative ways to connect with customers, build engagement, and deepen relationships.

Tishya’s expertise spans multiple styles from the graceful curves of copperplate to the bold lines of Gothic script. She’s been certified by top calligraphy instructors worldwide and works on surfaces beyond paper, such as glass, wood, ceramic, mirrors, and even acrylic. When it comes to her creativity, the sky is the limit.

Tishya’s Passion for Calligraphy
After spending years perfecting her skills, Tishya believes that true calligraphy demands intense training and practice. She expresses disappointment with the current market, where unqualified individuals often offer subpar work under the guise of genuine calligraphy. Despite these challenges, she is committed to maintaining the highest standards, ensuring each of her creations truly represents the essence of the craft.

For Tishya, only someone with a deep love for calligraphy could pursue this level of dedication and artistry.

The Birth of The Calligraphy Square
Six years ago, Tishya started her journey under the guidance of a local instructor, but she soon discovered that much of her early training was inaccurate. However, two years later, when she joined Instagram, she discovered much of her early training had been inaccurate. This realization opened her eyes to the challenges faced by the calligraphy community, including a lack of proper guidance and awareness, leading many beginners to give up too soon.

To prevent any other calligraphers from facing challenges like hers, Tishya founded The Calligraphy Square, a platform dedicated to addressing these issues, in 2021. Her goal is to build the world's largest, most supportive community for calligraphers. The Calligraphy Square offers accurate information and resources for artists at all stages of their journey, providing the support that Tishya herself once lacked. What’s Next?
Tishya’s mission is to elevate calligraphy and foster a global community shows that art can bridge both tradition and innovation, creating lasting connections through ink, paper, and passion. Currently 17, she’ll also be heading off to university soon.
