Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the relationship between India and Germany has always been strong. Germany, a land of both hard work and ethics, has always maintained a friendly industrial attitude towards India. Inviting German investors to Madhya Pradesh with advanced technology, he emphasized that all necessary facilities will be provided to investors in various sectors. He added that the state government has worked to eliminate and simplify procedural difficulties for investors. There will be no shortage of electricity or water for industries in Madhya Pradesh. “Investors are not guests, they are a part of our family. We will ensure they do not face any difficulties.” The Chief Minister addressed an interactive session in Munich, Germany, during his three-day visit. He also invited German business leaders to attend the Global Investors Summit (GIS) 2025 in Bhopal, which will be held in February.

Dr. Yadav mentioned that the historical ties between India and Germany, particularly in the fields of industry and business, have been very strong. He further emphasized that Germany is the largest investor among European countries in Madhya Pradesh. His visit aims to strengthen this relationship. “We seek a new kind of partnership with Germany, beyond just trade. We want German companies to bring their advanced technologies and invest in Madhya Pradesh, combining their expertise with our natural and human resources,” he said. Madhya Pradesh, with its immense growth potential, is an ideal investment destination. The state’s economy has tripled in the last decade, and its growth rate is in double digits. Madhya Pradesh is a power-surplus state and is advancing in the use of alternative energy sources, including green energy. Dr. Yadav also paid tribute to the German scholar Max Müller, who translated Indian texts and Vedas into several languages, including German. Madhya Pradesh Ensures Quick Approvals for Industries

The Chief Minister highlighted that Madhya Pradesh has made significant efforts to streamline the process of establishing industries. “Madhya Pradesh can be called the only state in India where all industrial permits and approvals are granted within just 30 days,” he said. This has been made possible through monitoring by enthusiastic, inquisitive, and dedicated officials, with Dr. Yadav personally overseeing the process.

During the interactive session titled Investment Opportunities in Madhya Pradesh held in Munich, Mr. Shatrughna Sinha, Consul General of India in Germany, stated that Madhya Pradesh is not only the geographical heart of India but is also emerging as a major economic destination. He assured German investors that the state offers excellent infrastructure, including five fully developed airports, 4,000 kilometers of national highways, and an extensive railway network, making it an important hub for India’s supply chain.

He further highlighted the state’s industry-friendly policies and discussed the immense potential for investment in sectors such as agriculture, renewable energy, automobile manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and tourism.

Madhya Pradesh as an Ideal Destination for German Investors

Dr. Tobias Rosenthal, Chairman of Bayerlosher, shared his 25 years of experience in Madhya Pradesh, stating that the state offers the ideal environment for German investors. His company, Bayerlosher, established its largest plant in Madhya Pradesh out of its 15 plants worldwide. He urged other German investors to follow suit, citing the state’s skilled workforce, suitable infrastructure, and the incentives provided by the state government.

Ease of Doing Business Enhances Investor Confidence

Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Additional Chief Secretary, emphasized that Madhya Pradesh is fully committed to contributing to India’s $5 trillion economy goal. The state is ready to play a key role in this national vision due to its strategic geographical location, abundant natural resources, and progressive administration. He praised the state’s “Ease of Doing Business” policy, which has increased investor confidence and demonstrated the state’s capacity to support investment in sectors such as renewable energy, food processing, pharmaceuticals, IT/ITES, and automotive manufacturing.

Madhya Pradesh Emerging as a Hub for AI

Shri Sanjay Dubey, Additional Chief Secretary, Information and Technology, stated that Madhya Pradesh is rapidly advancing in the field of IT and is emerging as a leading hub for artificial intelligence (AI) in India. He noted that India processes 550 million digital transactions daily, with a significant number of tech employees coming from Madhya Pradesh. He highlighted the state’s policies, including those for IT, ITES, ESDM (Electronics System Design and Manufacturing), and start-ups, which are fostering this growth.

Madhya Pradesh’s Strong Export Relations with Germany

Shri Raghvendra Singh, Principal Secretary of Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, shared that Madhya Pradesh has strong export ties with Germany. In the financial year 2023-24, the state exported $162 million worth of goods to Germany, including textiles, agriculture, automobiles, and chemicals. The state is also a leading exporter of wheat, diamonds, copper, and manganese in India. Currently, over 300 large and MSME industries are operating in the state, and more than 1.4 million MSMEs are providing employment to 7.3 million people. Madhya Pradesh is also home to 2200 women-led start-ups. The state is making rapid progress in sectors like pharmaceuticals, mining, and agri-tech, with more than 300 pharmaceutical companies exporting to over 160 countries.

The trade between India and Germany amounts to $26.06 billion, with Germany being a significant partner in Madhya Pradesh’s industrial and economic development.
