Vibha Kulkarni

Vibha Kulkarni, Director and Screenwriter known for the short ARO'S WORLD (2023) has won a prestigious Award of Recognition from The Best Shorts Film Competition, La Jolla, United States. The award was given for Creativity and Originality for the short film “Chasing Red Flags”, a unique one-of-a-kind stop-motion animation film. “Chasing Red Flags” is an anti-fairytale featuring Vibha Kulkarni as a female knight with a savior complex who keeps falling for Princes trapped in castles waving red flags.

"I am honored to receive this award, which is encouraging me to try out new ways of telling a story. Through this film, I explored a blend of fantasy and reality with the papercut animation done in real-time, with no animation software or VFX involved. It was very time-consuming to do it single-handedly with the help of my mother, but totally worth it" says Vibha Kulkarni, a Directing alumnus of the prestigious American Film Institute, Los Angeles, as well as a New Media alumnus of the prestigious National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.
