Gradually there was an increase in the demand of hijabs, similar modest clothes and Islamic articles.

Beingmuslims was started in the year 2009 by Tarique Ansari. He completed his bachelor's degree in science from Kishan Chand Chellaram College, Mumbai. After completing his bachelor's, he described to own a hijab retail business. Thus began the journey of BeingMuslim on 1st of February 2009- a hijab retail business at a rented space at Mota Mahal, Mumbai.

Gradually there was an increase in the demand of hijabs, similar modest clothes and Islamic articles. With great confidence and intentions, Tarique Ansari brought another rented space at Minara Masjid, Mumbai and set up a wholesale and retail hijab business.
