The idea of playing a character based on a  dancer rooted in the culture of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar fascinated actor-director Dilip Arya so much that he couldn't stop making a film on it. Even though he had no money and outside support to make the film, Dilip Arya took the challenge head-on and explored the culture of 'Launda Dance’ in his upcoming film 'Naach Basanti Naach' which is about to be released by PVR Cinemas across Uttar Pradesh on 14th June and the film will be released across the country later.

It is interesting to note that actor and director Dilip Arya previously acted in a superhit web series called 'Bheehad Ka Baagi' which was released on MX Player and was watched by more than 5 crore people. Dilip Arya played the main protagonist in the film and got a lot of accolades not only for his amazing performance. Dilip Arya says, 'Here in Naach Basanti Naach' I am playing a different character all together which was no less challenging than my previous film. In 'Bheehad Ka Baghi' I was playing a dacoit and in 'Naach Basanti Naach' I can be seen in a totally different avatar dancing to various tunes of life. Acting and directing the film simultaneously has a different set of challenges but I was determined to make this film".

Known to be a Bhartendu Natya Academy (Lucknow) pass out and for doing a short film making course from FTII (Pune), actor-director Dilip Arya took training and learned all the intricacies of 'Launda Dance' so that he could play his part with perfection. He completed the shooting of the film in just 32 days in various locations of Fatehpuri in Uttar Pradesh.

Dilip Arya says that for an independent filmmaker like him, the toughest challenge is to make the film itself. He says, "If you don't have the backing of a big producer, it becomes quite tough to get funds to shoot, produce and market the film in the long run and you don't get a buyer to release the film. But I accepted the challenge thrown at me and made a film which is surely going to touch your hearts."

A major chunk of the film has been shot at the virgin locations such as Amauli, Dapsaura, Ganga Ka Kinara, Fatehpur District. It was a logistical challenge to shoot at such places but the local population came in very handy during the shoot and helped the unit in every possible way. He said, "It would have been difficult to complete the film without the help of the villagers. We are really grateful for everything they provided us for the shoot. We all were working in tandem like a family. The starcast and our technical team explored and enjoyed the local cuisine and got to know so much about the local culture. We had great fun while shooting at the hinterlands."

Produced under the banner Radium Pictures, the starcast of the film comprises Dilip Arya, Riya Kapoor, Jay-Vijay Sachan, Anil Rastogi, Gaurav Kumar, Arvind Jadugar. Mukesh Kumar is the writer of the film while the credit for the story goes to Dinesh 'Deep' and Viren Yuvraj. The wonderful songs of the film have been written by Aashish Prakash and Dinesh 'Deep' and Asit Tripathi has composed all the songs for the movie.
