Many live a life of privilege, but few among us pass the same to the community. Volunteering your time & efforts to a deprived section of society needs sheer dedication and a good heart. Ms Seema Singh, a social entrepreneur and founder of Meghashrey NGO, is one such personality. She relentlessly works towards the upliftment of underprivileged people.

Recognizing the contribution of the outstanding philanthropist, Ms Seema Singh was felicitated with this year Trendsetter Award by the honourable Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Bhagat Singh Koshiyari. The blistering event was organized by Times applaud, a major digital news portal in India, on 24th February. The ceremony took place at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai, in the presence of eminent personalities.
Speaking at the event, Ms Seema Singh, founder of the NGO MeghaShrey, said, "Our vision as a team at MeghaShrey, is to work for the underprivileged children, youth, and young women and their families and shape a better future for them. As a community developer, I am always motivated to fight for oppressed groups and marginalized people, often forgotten about by our society. Eventually what we are doing will help in building a strong nation."
Ms. Seema is a homemaker turned into a Social Entrepreneur. She was always keen to give back to society. Her desire to help people in need prompted her to take up various charity works. But she was still feeling that she could do more, and that's when the idea of setting up her own NGO took shape in her mind. In the year 2000, she gave her mission a physical shape in the form of 'Meghashrey'. The NGO operates in children's education, women empowerment, food donation, and much more.
Over the years, MeghaShrey NGO has organized many foods distribution drives, education-related initiatives, sapling distribution drives, blanket distribution drives, and conducted many other social activities. During the pandemic era, she organized a vaccination drive for Mumbaikars distributed eatables, rations, medical kits. She even felicitated many COVID19 warriors at BKC Jumbo on the occasion of India's 73rd Republic Day.
Seema Singh and her team take utmost interest in the upliftment of the children. She wants education for all. Her NGO distributes books organizes events so that those children get a platform to display their hidden talents. Last year during Christmas, Seema Singh arranged a Christmas Carnival for the impoverished children.
Ms Seema Singh's efforts have won her awards and accolades from everywhere. She has received appreciation from leading corporate organizations and the top media houses, including Times interact Achievers 2020 by Times Groups, ET inspiring Women Entrepreneurs 2021 and Times Most Influential Personalities 2021.
Actively working as a social worker for the past 20 years, Seema always dedicates her achievements to her supportive family. She firmly believes that it wouldn't be possible for her to pursue her humanitarian mission without their contribution. Her children played a crucial role in formulating the Meghashrey NGO.
