Mumbai: The much awaited Mid Day Maharashtra Gaurav Award ceremony held at the Raj Bhawan, Mumbai on February 12, 2023 is an endeavor to recognize unparalleled talent of the extraordinary people who have their roots in Maharashtra. The Maharashtra Gaurav award recognizes such personalities in various categories. One such promising filmmaker, who has worked all over the world and has been the stalwart of filmmaking and cinema is none other than the acclaimed Indian filmmaker, Pankaj Purohit. Pankaj Purohit was felicitated and honoured with the Maharashtra Gaurav award 2023, to recognize his talent, hard work, and dedication to filmmaking as an iconic filmmaker by the Honourable Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari.
The Mid Day Maharashtra Gaurav award is organised to recognize the unrivaled contribution by various people from different walks of life who have left their mark in the field of entrepreneurship, social work, education, public services, and various forms of art and craft. Thereupon, filmmaker Pankaj Purohit, who has always been in the public eye for realistic cinema and his out-of-the box thought process was felicitated at this grand event in Mumbai for his outstanding achievements. Among the other notable awardees was renowned actor Shreyas Talpade who was also felicitated with the Maharastra Gaurav iconic actor award.

It was an emotional moment for Purohit to receive the Maharashtra Gaurav award, upon receiving the award, the ace craftsman of this El Dorado said, “It came as a pleasant surprise to me when the phone rang and I was informed that I was chosen to be the recipient of the award this year. I am extremely happy to be receiving the Maharashtra Gaurav award 2023, as it is one of the highest accolades that I have ever received. Receiving the award in Mumbai makes it extra special, where I first embarked on my journey into filmmaking and cinema. Additionally, I feel extremely privileged for having been associated professionally and personally with the glorious state of Maharashtra. He further said, “Success is not an accident. It is hard work, perseverance, sacrifice and above all, the relentless passion for what you are doing. Hard work most often leads to success. If one is afraid of hard work, they will most likely have a tougher time in attaining success. Hard work is one’s greatest asset. A dream does not become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work.
Furthermore, I have always believed that the path we have chosen is not random but pre-ordained, and the work that not only serves us, but serves the well-being of our nation is far more satisfying and important.”
Recently, Pankaj Purohit was officially selected for an initiative of directing a Coca-Cola commercial filmed in LA, marketed and distributed for South America. The exceptional artist’s Coke commercial is underway, to be launched on multiple platforms, including various digital platforms and numerous channels worldwide.
