In the second edition of the Golden Glory Awards’ 21 presented by Brands Impact, Sunil Kupperi, CEO & Creative Director of Mystic Canvas hailed the “Most Creative Director of Photography for Documentaries and Short Films”. Sunil Kupperi is an experienced producer, director, cinematographer and photographer who has in the past 20 years worked on several commercials, documentary, fiction films and photo shoots in India and abroad with International, national and local establishments in different capacities.

Brands Impact executed the second edition of Golden Glory Awards after two years, the prequel of which was held at the same venue in 2019 with Bollywood Diva and Businesswomen Preity Zinta. These awards are meant to acknowledge and bring forward the extraordinary journeys of individuals, professionals & companies that are embarking upon the path of glory and success with their remarkable achievements. The ceremony was graced by the gorgeous/ epitome of versatility Malaika Arora as the chief guest.

Sunil has directed films on global issues like Fish workers, coastal ecology, HIV, Transgender, women empowerment, and so on. One of the significant works of Sunil was shooting a get together and interaction between the survivors of hurricane Katrina in the USA and tsunami in India. The film, ‘A tale of Two Coasts’ was shot in New Orleans, USA and in several parts of India. Another film photographed and directed by Sunil was,’ Rebuilding Lives’ which portrayed the process of women empowerment in Rwanda, an east African country. Sunil has broadly documented various socio-political struggles through his camera in various documentaries including ‘Redefining Peace’, a film on eight women who lead diverse social movements and struggles in India.
He has also covered the alarming situation after the Asian Tsunami of 2004, its aftermath and the efforts of the survivors to revamp their lives. ‘Resilient Women’, is a film that explores the imaginative, meaningful and long-term rehabilitation interventions in the post tsunami circumstances that change the lives of women and coastal communities.
It is through his innovation and creativity in the film industry that he has been awarded the Golden Glory Award 2021.
