Computer Science graduate Akshay has undertaken several initiatives to set his institution apart from others in terms of curriculum development and improving efficacy of teachers. In addition, he ensures that inputs are constantly being made available to children regarding scientific knowledge using various activities such as science exhibitions and other avenues that enable them to gain knowledge about their surroundings as well as beyond. The students have also been encouraged by him to participate in competitions both at school level as well as other inter-school & state level events through which they can demonstrate their hard work.

My school gives children more than just books and other facilities, says Akshay Anand, Education Director of Pratibha Pallavan Public School. We want to create a new educational paradigm; we want to truly empower our students. The teachers at my school know how important it is to engage children in interactive, hands-on learning as early as possible. For example, every class has a teacher and an educator (ET), who are specially trained for that purpose. One thing I’m very passionate about is technology: Considering covid19 & online module of education we introduced Pratibha Pallavan App. This App is helpful for students as well as teachers in conducting online classes, one to one session as well as periodic assignments & timely evaluation. Our labs have state-of-the-art gadgets so students can get some real hands-on experience in engineering and science. We also try to keep things interesting through experiential teaching: If a child learns biology by watching an animal up close, they remember it better. That’s why we introduced smart classes because seeing something helps us understand it better than reading about it or hearing about it does.
What Does the Future Hold for Pratibha Pallavan Educational Group?
Pratibha Pallavan Public School was founded in 1993 by Dr Abhiram Singh, who had an educational vision that has stayed with me ever since. I plan to transform it from a school into a more sustainable institution, a university for lifelong learning for thousands of children and young adults in Jehanabad & Bihar. We are also planning to set up a world class school in Delhi NCR in the coming years. The pace at which technology is transforming education is unprecedented; it’s both thrilling and daunting to consider how we are going to educate our students today so they can thrive tomorrow.
