Although women are given the pedestal of Goddess Laxmi in their households, there is little to no involvement of women when it comes to financial decisions. All of us at one point of time have come across a woman who continued staying in a bad marriage or household because there was nowhere else to go, this is where the basic need to be financially independent comes in.

Financial Freedom can set your soul free
Saru Says that being financially independent "not only keeps you busy and makes you more rational and goal oriented, but it can also give you a sense of freedom that is unmatched". Knowing that you are contributing in a financial capacity to share the load, the feeling is simply exhilarating to say the least. It makes you feel free, "you are not dependent on anyone to bear your expenses, you don't need to settle for less or bare minimum"
The taboo around financial dependence needs to be removed too
It's the 21st century, women are breaking the glass ceiling but now there is a new divide, the women who earn and the ones who don't. "To judge a woman who is not earning, doubting their abilities and labeling them as backward isn't right too. There can be several reasons, maybe she is a new mom, maybe she wants to take a break. Just because being a homemaker or being a mom isn't something you can quantify or it's not a billable job, doesn't mean it's any less important. " Says Saru.
Find work at home - Saru's initiative
For women who can't step out of the home as much and don't mind working from home. Saru took an initiative for women's day. She opened her comments for anyone and everyone looking for work and looking to hire. The platform saw women commenting to look for work and the gap got eliminated because of this heartwarming initiative. "If just one woman finds work through my initiative, my work here is done and I would consider this a success", she poignantly puts.
To wrap up she also wanted to give women the message "Whether you are currently earning or not, always remember, Empowered women empower women, and it doesn't mean you should earn something to be empowered, if you take up someone's load while they work, if you are financially literate and help spread awareness, it counts as empowerment too".
