Sofia Estrada Castro is a successful self-made entrepreneur with a genuine passion for real estate. Her desire to build an empire has kept her driven and motivated to overcome even the most difficult challenges throughout her career. But, despite her incredible success, the journey to get there wasn't always easy.

After dropping out of high school in the 10th grade and later discovering she had an undiagnosed learning disability known as dyslexia, she held different jobs, none of which fueled a fire within her. Although she loved the idea of becoming her own boss, Sofia wasn't sure how to get started. It wasn't until she met her now-husband Bobby that she'd eventually dive right into the world of entrepreneurship while experiencing a slightly rocky start that would end up getting her to where she's at today.
"After getting to know Bobby, he did ask me if I would like to join forces with him on this business idea that he wanted to start. I felt like it was a good idea, so I agreed to help, but that venture didn't work out how we planned. While we were upset that it didn't work out, we still held onto the hope that we could eventually have our own profitable business," says Sofia. "We started diving deeper into different opportunities and eventually crossed paths with a successful entrepreneur who sold a manual on starting a leasing brokerage. The manual's cost was high at around $1800, but we decided to invest in it for our future. It was the best decision we could've possibly made at that time."
While the investment was a wise decision, it didn't come without risks. Sofia and Bobby had to borrow the money from their loved ones and weren't sure if the investment would be worth it in the long run. However, they decided to work with what they had and put everything into building their business, which ultimately helped the couple earn their investment back and then some.
"We agreed that we'd put our all into this venture because we knew there was a lot on the line. Of course, this required long days and nights, but we managed to make it happen, building a business that started to experience substantial growth within a year," shares Sofia. "If someone told me that this would be the business we'd exit at a $1 billion valuation, I don't think I'd believe it, but it happened! Now, we spend most of our time building our multifamily real estate portfolio, which is currently valued at approximately $600 million. When you fall in love with what you do and get up each day with the drive to keep going, anything is possible."
Sofia Estrada Castro believes that future entrepreneurs can learn a lot from her story of being a high school dropout, trying out different ventures, and overcoming struggles to reap the rewards in the long run. With a reputation as the real estate investing queen who gets the job done, she hopes to inspire other women to get into the world of real estate and build wealth for themselves.
