One of the most promising up-and-coming camera operators and cinematographers, Gaurav Shah’s future in Hollywood is the brightest among all on the present list.
The beauty and brilliance of his cinematography in many transnational feature films, web series & music videos especially working with Hollywood celebrities like Grammy winner Hamid Saiedi, Steve Aoki, Jake Paul, Pink Floyd, Ty Dolla Sign, Timmy Trumpet, Berry Gordy, and alike, has made him burst into the international scene with all name and fame.

Los Angeles-based Indian Director of Photography, Gaurav Shah, happens to work as 1st Assistant Cameraperson in many universal films and series with global outreach where he is showcasing touches of his mastery to almost all the genres possible in cinema. Currently, the pro cameraperson has wrapped a 10-episode TV Show for Cpics, and two upcoming feature films lined up for Hulu and independent productions.
Creative people like Gaurav Shah have been making waves in the global industry and have been quite revolutionizing when it comes to camera angles. He has been able to give layers to the motion pictures and the characters themselves with his edgy and brilliant work, especially in foreign art.
Born in MP (India) and brought up in the Indian city of Hyderabad, Telangana, Gaurav’s life journey has been quite a roller coaster. From being appreciated as an aspiring National level sportsman in Roller hockey, where he represented Andhra Pradesh, to making head turns in the Live show club in college, Gaurav has done it all. Gaurav then attained his B.A. Degree in Mass Communication and Journalism. After completion, he landed at the 9th Element Entertainment, an event company, as a PR intern. His diligent and artistic vision earned him a quick promotion and the position of Production Manager in the same company. The man was now given top assignments of managing live concerts of Bollywood and Tollywood singers.
Gaurav recalls, “There was something creative inside me that kept on calling me. I wanted to polish my skills in Media studies and production, and for that reason, I went to the US for further studies. There I got the chance to work on a live news station on two Mid-Atlantic award shows (Inside the Nest and Owl Sports Update), producing a TV pilot and later shooting a documentary for the famous Humble Genius production house. These opportunities made me realize my true passion and interest in cinematography.” Gaurav didn’t stop there and went on to polish his skills by following a Master’s degree in Filmmaking and TV production with a specialisation in cinematography at DePaul University.
Since then, the ace cinematographer has been climbing the success ladder with projects that comprised Tv shows, commercials, music videos, documentaries, and many more. He came into the limelight when his short film 'Same Love' was nominated for Chicago South Asian Film Festival. The film that revolves around the identity struggle of an LGBTQ South-Asian teenager is produced, written and cinematographed by Gaurav.
To add further to his credentials, his contributed work has also won him many accolades, including the best TV Pilot/Web series at the California Indies Film Festival 2022. His music video “Cry for Killed in the war” was officially selected at the 8 & Half Film Awards & Stanley Film Awards and even got an honourable mention at Milan Gold Awards and London Movie Awards.
Shah also worked on ‘Dead man’s hand’, a short film which was later selected at Lovesick Film Festival.
