At the age of 4, Pratik desired to visit Mumbai to see Amitabh Bachchan’s Bungalow. His enthusiasm for his dreams and the city led him to grow up and study for B’town in Mumbai. In 1994, Pratik enrolled in an engineering college to become an electrical engineer, but life had other plans for him. Suddenly, at the age of 17, he fell ill and was diagnosed with lymphoblastic lymphoma, a type of cancer. Over the next 3 years, he received chemotherapy and radiation. Pratik’s parents stood like a solid rock behind him and finally, he defeated cancer and emerged victorious. And then and there instead of dwelling over the past, with a full-fledged rejuvenated energy, Pratik returned to his dream city, Mumbai towards the beginning of 1998. With a renewed sense of purpose and a burning passion for cinema, he began working in the core process of filmmaking as a production assistant. He quickly climbed the ranks, becoming a production manager and even taking on the role of an accountant in many movies. His struggles gave him rewards as he got an opportunity to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali Production and Red Chillies Entertainment. Pratik has been an Executive Producer for some of the top big-budget & top-grossing movies like Bajirao Mastani, Padmavat, and Gangubai Kathiawadi, etc.
Despite all his accomplishments, Pratik remains a humble and a down-to-earth person. When asked about the reason behind his success, he stated, “Success, name, fame, money, etc. never taught me about the human values and gratitude, which life and time taught me when I was put in a difficult and life-threatening situation for 3 years. So, all we need to understand is we are on earth for a limited period of time so let’s be strong and help others as much as we can, to bring smiles to their faces before the curtains of our life fall, and be grateful for whatever god has given us. This is my reason for success.”
Well, from inspiring people to come over their physical and mental pain! Pratik is now working for Red Chillis Entertainment’s new big star-studded movie “Jawan” starring Shahrukh Khan.
