From Rural Roots to Global Reach: Priya Mottana's Story Inspires Women in India

In India, the specter of "you need money to start a business" looms large. Yet, nestled amidst the lush coffee plantation of Coorg, a different story unfolds. Priya Mottana, the CEO of Qscript Software Private Limited, isn't just a successful entrepreneur; she's a beacon of hope and inspiration for countless women across India.

Priya, like many young women in India, had dreamt of embracing the role of a supportive wife and a devoted mother. After marriage, she readily stepped into that path, building a warm and nurturing home. However, fate had other plans. When corporate restructuring snatched her husband's job, witnessing her husband's despair sparked a dormant flame within her: a spirit of resilience and a deep well of empathy. She understood that his struggles stemmed from the loss of purpose and validation, and this understanding became the bedrock of her own entrepreneurial awakening. Priya's journey began not in the glitzy corridors of Silicon Valley, but in the face of adversity. The couple returned to their ancestral village in Coorg, leaving behind the comforts of city life. With no money in hand, a single laptop and unwavering determination, Priya decided to carve her own path. Her journey began not with venture capital or angel investors, but with a single laptop and an ambitious dream.

Forget limitations, ignite possibilities. Their single laptop became a launchpad, proving that limited resources can't dim the power of a determined spirit.

The skepticism of a village unfamiliar with IT only bolstered their resolve, and their first e-commerce project for a local handicraft cooperative provided a momentum in business.

Her husband, her partner donned the hats of a junior salesman in field during day. Priya, meanwhile, plunged into the world of code, devouring online tutorials and building the digital bricks of their future.

Fueled by Priya's dedication to learn coding and her husband to learn client acquisition, Qscript began to take shape within the humble confines of their home.

Nights, however, painted a different scene. Her husband used to develop the project at hand, while Priya juggled other responsibilities like childcare, cooking, elder care, and household chores. Once  Priya armed with her newly honed skills, tackled coding with fervor, her husband's expertise shifted towards ensuring quality control.

As projects multiplied, they handpicked talented resources, gradually forming the core of their expanding team.  A resourcefulness born of necessity transformed their garage into a vibrant office, buzzing with creativity and collaboration. Every penny earned was channeled back into the business, not for personal gain, but to build a comfortable and inspiring environment for their growing team, prioritizing their well-being and fueling their collective growth.

But fate had another test in store. As Qscript began to find its footing, the unexpected storm of the COVID-19 pandemic threatened to derail their progress. Many businesses shuttered, clients froze budgets, and uncertainty loomed large. Yet, Priya remained undeterred. Recognizing the burgeoning demand for e-commerce solutions in Africa, she swiftly pivoted Qscript's focus, transforming their local venture into a player on the global stage. Her first oversea client, Secure Destination, a logistics and delivery company in Benin, became a testament to Priya's foresight and her team's ability to adapt and thrive in unfamiliar territory. This bold move not only saved the company during a time of crisis but also propelled it onto a new trajectory of international success.

As Qscript transitioned into a corporate office, Priya remained grounded. She fostered a culture of empathy and inclusivity, ensuring every employee felt valued and empowered. This led to a loyal and motivated team, a testament to her leadership, built on the lessons learned from her husband's bitter experience in his previous job.

Today, Qscript stands tall as a multinational corporation major client base in Europe, a symbol of Priya's unwavering spirit and innovative vision. But her success is not just about numbers; it's about inspiring a generation of Indian women to dream big and defy limitations.

While Qscript began with just a laptop and a dream, its journey towards becoming a multinational corporation was anything but meteoric. The company climbed step by step, each milestone a testament to Priya and her husband's unwavering dedication. Starting as an unregistered entity, they persevered, securing MSME registration to gain legitimacy and credibility. This was followed by acquiring a GST, a mark of their growing professionalism and commitment to transparency. The next hurdle was the incorporation of Qscript as a Private Limited company, solidifying their structure and attracting larger clients. Finally, their tireless efforts earned them the coveted MNC status, propelling their venture onto the global stage.

Priya's journey with Qscript isn't merely a story of entrepreneurial grit; it's a testament to the power of bootstrapping and resourcefulness. Unlike many startups reliant on venture capital or angel investors, Qscript carved its own path, fueled by sheer determination and innovative thinking. This remarkable achievement offers a beacon of hope and inspiration for countless Indian women who may not have access to traditional funding routes.

Priya's story whispers a promise: success awaits those who dare to dream, adapt, and rise above challenges. Go forth, find your purpose, and build your own Qscript.
