Tell us about the inception of 1Plus1 Studio. What ignited your passion for wedding photography and filmmaking?
The journey of 1Plus1 Studio began organically. I started as a hobbyist photographer, often carrying my camera during work-related travels. The turning point came when a colleague, who recognized my photography skills, approached me to capture his wedding. It was an exhilarating experience - being entrusted to document such a significant day in someone's life.
The positive feedback from the wedding ignited a spark within me. The idea that I could transform my passion into a viable business while bringing happiness to others, was incredibly compelling. This realization marked the inception of 1Plus1 Studio. From that point on, the fusion of storytelling through photography and filmmaking became the driving force, propelling me to establish a venture that captures the essence of love stories and preserves them for generations to come. And today we have captured more than 300 weddings in 50 cities across 8 countries .
Your films capture emotion so beautifully. How do you approach storytelling in your wedding films?
Storytelling is at the core of what we do. Capturing emotions requires more than just technical skills; it demands a connection. Before the big day, we spend time getting to know the couple – their personalities, their journey, and what makes their love special. This understanding becomes the foundation of our storytelling.We believe that the little moments, the stolen glances, and the unspoken emotions are the heart of the story, and we strive to capture them authentically.
In an age of filters and presets, your work looks as natural as possible. Could you elaborate on your creative process?
In an era of digital enhancements, I firmly believe that true beauty lies in authenticity. My philosophy is rooted in crafting visuals that stand the test of time, evoking nostalgia and genuine feelings even years down the line. We pay meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that colors remain faithful to real-life hues. This dedication ensures that the photographs and films we create are not only accurate representations of the moment, but also stand as fresh, classy, and ageless pieces of art. Our approach guarantees that the memories we preserve are as vibrant and meaningful as the day they were captured.
You have captured a lot of destination weddings both local and international. Could you highlight a destination wedding that truly stood out?
Amidst all the amazing destination weddings we've been a part of, the time we captured a Spanish couple's wedding in the heart of Madrid was certainly special. The whole experience was a cultural immersion – the music, the food, the vibrant atmosphere – all uniquely Spanish. We felt like we were not just photographers, but part of their world, celebrating with them. It's moments like these that remind us why we love what we do!

You were recently part of the Goldman Sachs 10K Women Entrepreneur program at IIM Bangalore. How has this experience influenced your studio's growth?
Manvi: Participating in the Goldman Sachs program was a transformative experience. It provided invaluable insights, mentorship, and exposure to a vibrant community of entrepreneurs. Winning the Excellence Award was an honor and a testament to 1Plus1 Studio's potential. It has opened doors to collaborations and propelled us towards broader horizons.
What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs who aim to turn their passion into a successful venture?
Begin by mastering your craft. Invest time in learning and practicing to build a solid foundation. Expertise forms the bedrock of a successful entrepreneurial journey.
