Incident in Kondhwa on Monday night
Six persons were arrested on charges of molesting a woman police constable and creating a ruckus at the Kondhwa police station on Monday around 10.30 pm.

The accused were demanding that the cops release some persons arrested in a dowry case after which the situation got out of hand.
The six persons arrested were identified as Hajimalang Karim Sayyad (30), Samir Karim Sayyad (28), Noorjahan Karim Shaikh (55), Altamas Imtiyaz Shaikh (35), all from Bhagyodaynagar in Kondhwa; Laxmikant Shrikant Ojha (28), from Shivshankar society in Bibwewadi, and Aarif Yusuf Shaikh (39), from Mithanagar in Kondhwa.
Police said that accused resorted to unruly behaviour when their demand was not met, with Noorjahan and Altamas Shaikh banging their heads on the table while Hajimalang Sayyad tried to set himself ablaze using kerosene that he had carried with him.
Cops said that in the ensuing melee they manhandled the lady police constable, after which she lodged a complaint against them. Assistant Police Inspector S G Thopte is investigating the case.u00a0
