The 38-year-old, a police clerk at the Worli traffic headquarters, claims that when she approached the cops in December, they just took down her complaint in writing and asked her to return later. She added, "I visited the police station several times, I would sit there for hours, but no FIR was filed. They are not helping me, despite knowing I belong to the police force. If they can’t help one of their own, how will they help anyone else?"

According to the written complaint, the woman has been receiving lewd messages since nine months from a stranger, identified only as Thorat. He also took pictures from her Facebook albums and posted them on his profile, with vulgar comments.
The Kurla resident said, “I faced a lot of mental harassment and humiliation because of this. The man later messaged me and said he will post more pictures unless I pay him a hefty amount.”
She added, “I have blocked him on Facebook, but he still sends my pictures to people in my friends list. I am requesting the cops to at least block him from Facebook.”
A cyber police officer said, “We have not taken the FIR because if the accused is later identified as someone known to the woman, she might refuse to go ahead with the case.” To this, the woman said, “Whoever the accused may be — a relative or close friend — I just want the cops to put him behind bars. The cyber cops are giving excuses.”
