Harshaali Malhotra, who grabbed eyeballs in the teaser of Salman Khan-starrer 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan', has been missing from the film's promotional campaign. But insiders suggest it is but a marketing strategy to keep the curiosity around her character alive — the six-year-old plays a mute Pakistani kid who loses her way at the Indo-Pak border.

A source says, "Harshaali's role is central to the film's story and so, it was decided by both Salman and director Kabir Khan that they will not reveal too many details about her. In fact, she has been asked not to interact with any mediaperson and also will not take part in any promotional events. She will be allowed to speak to the media once the film releases."
The class II student has been seen in a few commercials and a television show, 'Laut Aao Trisha' featuring Bhagyashree, Salman's 'Maine Pyar Kiya' co-star.
A crew member of 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' reveals that she landed the film role after her very first audition. "She loves to face the camera. Her portion in the film was shot during school vacations, so her studies have not been affected. She is a bright girl and has been getting a lot of attention. But her parents have signed a contract with the production company to maintain secrecy around her character," adds the unit hand.
Harshaali's parents refused to comment on her absence from the promotions.
